Dr. Howard Mills and his wife, Ruth, created Minette Bay Lodge to share their passion for the Northwest beauty of the Kitimat area with visitors to the region. The lodge combines an adventurous approach to outdoor living with all the luxuries and creature comforts of a high-end hotel.

The idea for Pyne Hamlet Properties came from a wish to offer a similar blend of natural beauty and the comforts of a home, but in a more permanent setting, to the coming influx of energy industry workers, many of them managers who would be seeking a place that could suit a family lifestyle while being a stone's throw from the heart of the industry. When Dr. Mills saw Border Oak's eco-conscious approach to the classic cottage design, the Pyne Hamlet concept was born, and he has working toward this vision ever since.
